Beauty’s Beloved Beasts
education, preservation and conservation
About Dana
I always knew from a young girl that I was born into a world that I didn’t quite fit into. I later found out it was because I was born to create a new one. I always knew that the meaning of life was to give life meaning. I knew that my choices, my example and my time would inspire others. My reason for being born was to ensure the preservation of wildlife. I have focused my efforts the last several years on educating myself on the pandemic issue of threatened and endangered species facing extinction. We as human beings have a responsibility to raise awareness about poaching, illegal trapping, canned hunting, destruction of habitat and many other causes for decimation. Life is going on, and generations after us will no longer have species of animals that once walked this earth. We will have driven animals to extinction. So how I feel about all of this is an absolute obligation as human beings to facilitate change, practice conservation, and educate others on how they can help .We MUST be the change in ourselves that we wish to see in the world. I want the world to KNOW, that just because you can’t do everything to save ALL animals that you cannot do NOTHING. Start small, and from here we will grow.
Most importantly my message to the world is that I believe I am what I do, not what I say I’ll do.

Why Help The Lion?
Well, Lions are UNIQUE among cats, as they live in a group or pride. The pride members will spend the day in scattered groups or may unite to share a meal. The prides consist of several generations of lionesses, some of which are related, a smaller number of breeding males, and their cubs. Over the last two decades the lion population has been nearly cut in half due to poaching and habitat loss. Meanwhile populations of lions rose roughly 11% in certain countries where parks are well funded and managed appropriately. National geographic states “there are half as many African lions than there was 25 years ago. Wildlife conservation Network director Paul Thomson (WCN) states “Lions are one of the world’s universal and iconic icons, and they are quietly slipping away.” He further states “now is the time to stop the loss and bring lions back into landscapes across the continent.”
Why Help The ELEPHANT?
The human world MUST know elephants have deep family bonds. Females will often stay with their mothers their whole lives, so elephants often become great-grandmothers. They are HIGHLY sensitive animals. As an example, if a baby elephant cries the herd will touch and caress the baby with their trunks to sooth it. Elephants also mourn the death of their loved ones with their trunks. Years later after their death, an elephant NEVER forgets. As of today, there are less than 415,000 elephants across Africa, nearing this species towards extinction. Elephants have also declined significantly during the 20 th century largely due to illegal ivory trade. Fortunately, in 1989 the convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora (CITES) a global agreement among governments to regulate or ban international trade in species under threat, such as banning commercial trade in elephant Ivory.
Why Help The TIGER?
Well, what’s the reason for decline? There is an illegal demand for tiger’s body parts, especially their bones. Thought being a medicinal use in Chinese medicine. Tigers also face human poaching and habitat loss. There are so many different classifications of tigers. There are 9 subspecies to be exact, of which three are already extinct. The world has the Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), the Siberian tiger ( Panthera tigris altaica), the Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae), the South China Tiger (Panthera tigris amoyensis ), the Indochinese tiger (Panthera tigris corbetti), the Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni), the Bali tiger (Panthera tigris balica), the Caspian tiger (Panthera tigris virgata) and the Javan tiger (Panthera tigris sondaica). Which three of these are deemed extinct? The Javan tiger, the Caspian tiger and the Bali tiger. There are also two colors of tigers. The White tiger and the Golden tiger.
